Customer Stories
What Auckland homeowners say about their Paradox installs.
"Had Joseph install a Paradox MG5050 in our home. The BluEye app is great — I can check the house is armed from work. Really tidy installation, wouldn't know the cables were there."
"Our old alarm kept giving us grief — Joseph serviced it, found a dodgy detector and had it sorted in the same visit. Quick, professional and knew his Paradox systems inside out."
"We went with Paradox for our office — solid system, no fuss. Joseph explained everything clearly and didn't try to upsell us on stuff we didn't need. That kind of honesty is rare."
FAQs
Common questions, answered honestly
The MG5050+ (Magellan series) supports both hardwired and wireless zones — making it ideal for retrofitting into existing homes where running cables everywhere isn't practical. The SP series is fully hardwired and better suited to new builds or homes where cable runs are easy. Both use the BluEye app and offer very similar features. We'll recommend the right one based on your property.
BluEye is the Paradox smartphone app for controlling and monitoring your alarm remotely. You can arm, disarm, receive push notifications for alarms and zone trips, and view the full event history. The app is licensed at approximately USD $50 per 3 years — that works out to around $30 NZD per year, which is very affordable for full remote access and monitoring. There's no monthly subscription. We configure the app and set up your licence as part of every install.
Yes — we service Paradox systems across Auckland regardless of who originally installed them. If you've bought a home with an existing Paradox alarm, inherited a system from a previous owner, or just need your current alarm checked over and updated, we can help. We carry common Paradox parts and can usually fault-find and fix issues in a single visit.
Both options are available. Most of our residential customers self-monitor via the BluEye app — they get instant notifications and respond themselves. If you'd prefer a 24/7 monitoring centre to respond on your behalf, we can connect your Paradox system to a reputable NZ provider. This is always optional — there's no obligation to sign up for monitoring to get a Paradox alarm installed.
Most standard residential installations — panel, 6–10 zones, siren and keypad — are completed in a single day. Larger homes with more zones may take a full day or slightly longer. We'll give you a realistic timeframe in the quote, and we won't leave until everything is tested, the app is set up and you're comfortable with the system.
Every installation is different depending on the size of your home, the number of zones and detectors, and whether we're doing a new install or a retrofit. We provide fully itemised quotes after seeing your property — so there are no surprises. Paradox is one of the most cost-effective professional alarm options in Auckland.
