Fibra
Wired Alarm Systems
Auckland
Ajax Fibra is the wired side of Ajax — up to 100 detectors on a single hub line, powered through the cable, with no batteries to replace. Built for new builds, warehouses and larger sites.
Wireless suits most homes. Wired suits some buildings.
We install both, and we'd rather tell you which one fits than sell you the one with the bigger invoice. For most existing homes, wireless Ajax is the right answer — no drilling, fast install, easy to take with you.
Fibra earns its place when the building is large, when the walls are going up anyway, when nobody wants to think about detector batteries again, or when the site has a compliance requirement that points at a wired system. If that sounds like your project, this is the page for you. If it doesn't, the wireless Ajax page is probably the better read.
Wired precision
Up To 100 Detectors Per Line
A single four-core cable run supports up to 100 wired detectors on one hub line — enough to cover a large commercial floorplate without a rack of expanders.
Cable Runs To 2,000m
Line length of up to 2,000 metres means outbuildings, back sheds and far corners of a site stay on the same system rather than needing their own.
No Batteries To Replace
Detectors are powered directly through the cable. On a site with dozens of devices, that removes an entire category of ongoing maintenance.
Tamper Detection Everywhere
Tamper protection on every line and every device, so interference with the wiring itself is an event rather than a silence.
Grade 3 Compliant
Fibra meets Grade 3 for commercial applications — relevant where an insurer or a standard specifies a grade rather than leaving it open.
The Same Ajax App
Arming, alerts and monitoring work exactly as they do on wireless Ajax. Wired hardware, identical everyday experience.
Best fit projects
New Builds
If the walls are open, cabling now costs a fraction of retro-fitting later. Worth deciding before the gib goes on, not after.
Warehouses & Industrial
Large volumes, long distances and high device counts are exactly what the 100-detector, 2,000m line was designed for.
Larger Commercial Sites
When a site has enough detectors that battery replacement becomes a scheduled job, wired removes that job entirely.
High-Security Applications
Where a physical connection and per-line tamper detection are preferred to a radio link, regardless of how good the radio link is.
Major Renovations
Already opening walls and ceilings? The cable can go in alongside the electrical work while access is free.
Mixed Installations
Fibra and wireless devices can run on the same Ajax system, so a wired backbone can still pick up a wireless sensor where cabling is impractical.
Talk to us before the walls close
The single most expensive mistake on a wired system is deciding to have one after the lining is up. If you're building or renovating in Auckland, a short conversation at the framing stage decides cable routes, detector positions and where the hub lives — and costs nothing.
We're owner-operated, so the person who plans the cable runs is the person who installs them and the person you call afterwards.
Four steps, no surprises
Site Assessment
We walk the site or the plans, identify every zone that needs covering, and work out cable routes and hub placement.
Clear Written Quote
Itemised per detector and per line, so you can see the cost of each zone and stage the work across a build programme if needed.
Cabling & Install
Cable run neatly and to plan, detectors mounted and powered through the line, every device tamper-protected and tested.
Commissioning & Handover
Every zone walk-tested, the app configured, users set up, and your team shown how to arm, disarm and read the system.
Wired alarm systems across Auckland
Based in Whenuapai and installing across the whole Auckland region — west, north shore, central, east and south. If your suburb isn't listed, ask anyway; we most likely cover it.

Not automatically — they suit different situations. Wireless Ajax uses encrypted two-way communication with anti-jamming and detector batteries lasting up to 7 years, which is more than enough for most homes and offices. Fibra makes more sense on large sites, new builds, high device counts and where a grade requirement points at wired. We assess the property and tell you which one fits.
Fibra supports up to 100 wired detectors per hub line, with cable runs up to 2,000 metres. That covers most commercial buildings on a single system rather than splitting the site across several panels.
No. Fibra detectors are powered directly through the cable, so there are no detector batteries to monitor or replace. The hub itself still has backup power so the system keeps running through an outage.
Yes. A site can run a wired Fibra backbone and still add wireless devices where cabling isn't practical — an outbuilding, a heritage wall, a late change of plan. It's all one system in one app.
As early as you can, and ideally before the walls are lined. Cabling an open frame is straightforward; retro-fitting the same system afterwards means lifting linings or going wireless instead. A conversation at framing stage costs nothing and usually saves money.
It depends on the size of the site, the number of detectors and how difficult the cable runs are — which is why we quote after seeing the site or the plans. The quote is itemised per detector and per line so you can see what each zone costs and stage it if you want to.
