DoorBell
Ajax Video Doorbell
Auckland
Answer your door from anywhere. The Ajax DoorBell combines a smart video intercom with professional-grade security — so a courier at the gate, a visitor at 9pm and an alarm event all land in one app.
A doorbell that's part of the alarm, not another app
Most video doorbells are an island. They come with their own app, their own login, their own subscription, and they know nothing about the alarm system on the other side of the wall. When something happens you end up checking two or three places to work out what.
The Ajax DoorBell sits inside the Ajax system. The same app that arms your alarm shows you who's at the door. If you already have Ajax, adding the DoorBell doesn't add another account — it adds a device.
Specified properly, not just a camera
4MP HDR, 155° Wide View
Sharp footage day and night, with a wide enough field of view to see a whole porch or entryway rather than a face-shaped crop.
Two-Way Intercom
Speak to whoever is at the door with noise and echo cancellation, so it sounds like a conversation rather than a speakerphone in a stairwell.
AI That Knows What It's Seeing
Built-in AI distinguishes people, vehicles and animals — not leaves and shadows. Fewer pointless notifications means you still read the ones that matter.
PIR Motion Detection
A dedicated PIR sensor gives fast, accurate detection up to 4m, rather than relying on video motion alone.
Touchless Mode
Get alerted when someone approaches the door — before they ring, and whether or not they ever do.
IR Night Vision to 6m
Clear footage in complete darkness, which is when you most want to know who is standing at your front door.
It stays online when your Wi-Fi doesn't
A Wi-Fi doorbell is only as reliable as your router. Ajax's DoorBell runs Wi-Fi as its primary connection but falls back to the Jeweller/Wings link to your Ajax hub if Wi-Fi drops — so a flaky router or a power blip at the modem doesn't quietly take your front door offline without telling you.
That matters most in exactly the situation you bought it for: the one where something is going wrong.
Where a video doorbell actually earns its keep
Parcel Deliveries
See and speak to couriers whether you're upstairs, at work or away. Tell them where to leave it instead of finding a card in the letterbox.
Long Driveways & Gates
Plenty of Auckland properties have a gate a long way from the house. Touchless alerts and two-way audio save the walk.
Home Alone Or After Dark
Answer the door without opening it. Night vision means you can see who's there even when the porch light is off.
Rentals & Shared Entries
Know who's coming and going from a shared entrance, with footage in the same app as the rest of the system.
Small Business Front Doors
See who's at a trade entrance or after-hours door and let them know you're on your way, without leaving the back of the shop.
Existing Ajax Owners
If you already run an Ajax alarm, the DoorBell is the cheapest way to add eyes at the entry point without a second system.
Four steps, no surprises
Free Site Assessment
We look at the entry point, the mounting position, the viewing angle and how your Wi-Fi actually reaches the front door.
Clear Upfront Quote
Written, itemised, everything included. If it makes more sense as part of a wider Ajax system we'll tell you that too.
Professional Installation
Mounted at the right height and angle, wiring done neatly, and paired properly to your hub rather than left on Wi-Fi alone.
Handover & Training
App set up on your phone, notifications tuned so they're useful rather than constant, and everyone in the house shown how it works.

Yes. It works as a standalone Wi-Fi video doorbell out of the box. Paired with an Ajax hub it also gains the Jeweller/Wings fallback connection and integrates fully with your alarm system, which is where it becomes more than a doorbell.
The Ajax app is free on iOS and Android, and there's no monthly cloud fee just to arm, disarm or receive alerts. You only pay ongoing if you choose to add 24/7 professional monitoring. That's a genuine difference from doorbell brands that put basic features behind a subscription.
It shouldn't. Built-in AI distinguishes people, vehicles and animals rather than triggering on any movement, and there's a dedicated PIR sensor as well as video motion. We also tune the notification settings during handover, because a doorbell you've muted is a doorbell that isn't working.
Wi-Fi is the primary connection, but with an Ajax hub the DoorBell falls back to the Jeweller/Wings radio link. So a router reboot or a dropped connection doesn't silently take your front door offline — which is the failure mode most Wi-Fi-only doorbells have.
Yes — infrared night vision works up to 6m, so you get usable footage in complete darkness rather than a bright blur around the porch light.
Yes. Family members can be added with their own access level — full admin, or view-only. Everyone gets the notifications; not everyone needs the ability to change the system settings.
