Alarm & CCTV Installation
Central Auckland
Villas, bungalows, terraces and apartments through Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Mt Eden and Remuera. Wireless systems that go into a character home without chasing walls or touching the scrim.
What Central Auckland homes actually need
Central Auckland is villa and bungalow country, and that single fact decides most of the job. A villa has no wall cavity to speak of — it is scrim and lath over solid framing — so running cable through it means opening walls up and repairing them afterwards. On a house where the interior is the point, that is a non-starter. A fully wireless system is not a compromise here, it is the correct answer.
Heritage and character overlays add the second constraint. Visible cable and surface conduit on a street frontage is both an eyesore and, in some cases, not permitted. Sensors and outdoor cameras need siting where they cover the entry points without being the first thing anyone sees.
The terraces and infill through Grey Lynn, Kingsland and Westmere bring shared walls and close neighbours. Sensor placement matters more than sensor count — a poorly aimed sensor in a terrace picks up next door's comings and goings and trains you to ignore the alarm.
The exception worth planning for is a renovation. If walls are already open, that is the one moment when a wired Ajax Fibra system makes sense in a villa, and it is far cheaper to do then than to retrofit later. If you are renovating, get the alarm designed before the linings go back on.

It should not. A wireless system needs no cable through the walls — sensors mount on the architrave or the wall surface and the panel sits somewhere discreet. That is exactly why we default to wireless on character homes.
Before the linings go back on. That is the only cost-effective moment to run a wired system through a villa, and it also lets us place cameras and sensors properly rather than working around finished surfaces.
Yes, but placement does the work. Sensors need aiming away from shared walls and away from the paths people use next door. Getting that wrong is the usual cause of an alarm nobody trusts.
