Different premises, different problems
Retail is about after-hours entry and about the difference between a shoplifter and a break-in. The alarm needs to cover the back door and the stockroom properly, not just the shop floor everyone can see from the street.
Offices are usually about people rather than intruders — who has access to which floor, cleaners arriving after hours, and knowing the last person out actually armed the place. That is where per-user access and schedules do the real work.
