West Auckland is really three different security problems wearing the same postcode. The newer brick-and-tile through Massey, West Harbour and Hobsonville Point is the straightforward case — cavity walls, tidy roof space, and a wireless system goes in cleanly in a day without a single hole that needs patching.

Titirangi and the bush fringe are their own story. Long driveways mean the house sits a long way from the road, so the useful detection is at the gate and along the drive, not just on the back door. Detached sleepouts and studios need to be on the same system rather than left off it, and the damp bush setting is hard on anything mounted outside — housings, seals and cable runs all need siting with that in mind rather than being bolted up and forgotten.

Then there are the lifestyle blocks out through Kumeu, Riverhead and Whenuapai. Sheds, implement bays, a second dwelling, gates a long way from the house. That is usually where a wired Ajax Fibra backbone or long-range wireless earns its keep, because the distances defeat a system designed for a suburban section.

Being based in Whenuapai matters more than it sounds. Most of our West Auckland work is fifteen minutes from the van, so a fault call does not turn into a scheduling problem.
